3rd Grade Spelling

The 3rd Grade Connect Spelling Course includes 32 units designed to build mastery of essential spelling skills. It includes harder lists of previous skills, while adding more basics like dropping the e and changing the y to i before adding a suffix. Third grade lists teach the students to easily spell three syllable words, providing them the confidence they need for middle school spelling. Also inserted in throughout the units are homophones, a critical skill often neglected in traditional spelling programs.

Each unit includes:

  • The take home list with instructions of the word pattern for that week, along with what is not phonetic in yellow and red words
  • Worksheets to go over the words with the entire class at once
  • Shapes worksheet
  • Scrambled words worksheet
  • Word search worksheet
  • Cloze worksheet
  • Ideas on how to incorporate tactile methods each week for green, yellow, and red words
  • Songs are you may use to sing the yellow and red words
